About

Carlmont’s Key Club Website!!

We are a part of Key Club International which is the oldest and largest service program for high school students. It is a student-led organization whose goal is to teach leadership through helping. Key Club International is a part of the Kiwanis International family of service-leadership programs.

Although key club is an international organization, our specific district spans across three states, making up the Cali-Nev-Ha District (California-Nevada-Hawaii or CNH). Within the district there are multiple regions, we are Region 17. And more specifically, within this region is our division, Division 34 North, the Aqua Apes!!

Key Club is led by students and it provides us with opportunities to serve our community, build character, and develop leadership skills. Our motto is “Caring — Our Way of Life.” With that being said, we are caring and competent servant leaders transforming communities worldwide.

We are a part of the California-Nevada-Hawaii (also known as Cali-Nev-Ha or CNH) District, Region 17, specifically Division 34 North. Division 34 North consists of fourteen high schools from San Francisco to Redwood City. We (Carlmont) are part of Division 34 North. We were chartered and sponsored by the Kiwanis club of San Carlos in March of 2007. Despite starting with only eighteen members (that’s three more than the bare minimum, a club must have at least fifteen members.) we have grown over the past years; currently having a total of 128 members registered for the 2015-2016 school year. Last year, 2014-2015, Carlmont Key Club volunteered over 1,000 hours in more than twenty-five projects/events.

In regards to our club specifically, we meet every second and fourth Thursday of the month in D12, Mr. Miskelly’s classroom. These meetings go over a variety of topics, however we tend to focus on reflecting on previous events or discussing upcoming events to encourage our members’ participation.

Our Pledge:

I pledge, on my honor,
to uphold the Objects of Key Club International;
to build my home, school and community;
to serve my nation and God;
and combat all forces which tend to undermine these institutions.

Key Club along with AKTION CLUB, CIRCLE K, KEY LEADER, BUILDERS CLUB, K-KIDS (and KIWANIS) are all part of the Kiwanis family.

Some charities we work with are UNICEF, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, and March of Dimes. Thank you to our co-sponsors: The Hershey Company and Rustic Pathways.
